Chamber of Commerce’s 84th Annual Meeting & Dinner

The Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce’s 84th Annual Meeting & Dinner is one of the premier gatherings of our local business and political leadership. This year’s event will be held Monday, February 1, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grady Cultural Center. The annual meeting is one of the Chamber’s most popular gatherings putting you in touch with some of the top business and community leaders in Cairo and Grady County.

The evening will include 2009 Chamber accomplishments as well as 2010 Chamber goals, recognition of the Chamber’s current and incoming leadership, and a presentation to various community award winners. This year's featured speaker is Lonnie Moore, Senior Consultant with FranklinCovey and facilitator of The Leader In Me program recently implemented in several area schools.

Tickets for this year’s banquet are $35 each and are available at the Chamber of Commerce. Remember, you do not have to be a Chamber member to attend…but you’ll want to be one when you leave. Please join us as we celebrate 84 years of making Cairo and Grady County a better place to live, work, raise a family and build a business.

Community Award Nominations

The Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2009 Community Awards. Award recipients will be recognized at the 84th Annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner Meeting scheduled for Monday, February 1, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grady Cultural Center.

Nominations are being sought for the following categories:

• Man of the Year
• Woman of the Year
• Young Professional of the Year
• Community Service
• Farm Family of the Year

Criteria and nomination forms are available at the Chamber office located at 961 North Broad Street or by calling 229-377-3663. Completed forms should be returned to the Chamber of Commerce no later than January 4, 2010.

The Chamber website is an economic development tool and the first place many look to when researching a community. Our new blog was created to provide members additional value to their membership. • Annual Cairo Christmas Parade - Thursday, December 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in Downtown Cairo - In keeping with the parade theme "The Joy of Giving", participants are encouraged to donate new unwrapped toys or nonperishable food items with their parade applications. The items collected will be donated to the Grady County Help Agency.
• Whigham Christmas Celebration - Friday, December 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Santa will be there!
